About the Author & Illustrator
Paula Pérez de Arce
Paula is a Chilean graphic designer and illustrator, as well as the mother of two bicultural girls: Lupe and Isa. She has lived in the Netherlands for seven years, and it was her personal experience raising her daughters between two cultures that inspired her to create this book.
Lupe e Isa van a Chile is a bilingual children’s book (Spanish–Dutch) that celebrates the cultural differences between Chile and the Netherlands through a perspective that is warm and easy for children to understand.
With colorful illustrations and fun facts, the book invites young readers to explore two very different — yet equally special — countries.
This book is not only for children growing up between both cultures, but also for their families, friends, and loved ones. It serves as a tool to help them better understand the world these children live in, and to get to know — from another point of view — the country that is also part of their story.
